We are going live with Google Analytics for Pexitest.com. The website is hosted on Azure – a cloud platform managed by Microsoft.

About Azure: Azure is Microsoft’s public cloud platform. Azure offers a large collection of services including platform as a service (PaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS), and managed database service capabilities. Azure, like other cloud platforms, relies on a technology known as virtualization. https://azure.microsoft.com/en-in/overview/what-is-azure/

The Azure dashboard has multiple features to monitor account of hits on to the website hits to the CPU average time that the website takes to respond etc.

However, Google Analytics is required to understand the sources of the hits, which type of marketing activity is leading to more website hits, how many valid hits happened in Realtime or in a Timeframe (1 day / last 7 days / last month). It answers questions like which of them converted into an assessment and other business metrics.

It is important to note that we have an operational metrics system in the cloud service provider, and we need Google Analytics to sit over that so that we can understand the business metrics and take operational decisions on types of marketing campaigns etc. that we have to run for the website or application.

Google Analytics helps us answer

  1. What traffic sources are sending people to our website – channels like Facebook etc.
  2. How do new Visitors come to the site and Why do they leave ?
  3. What doe the Visitors do once they come on the Website ? Behaviour flow
  4. Are my site Goals being met ? Eg. Download brochure or ask for a demo etc.
  5. Is my website working effectively ? Site speed, site navigation etc.

The Real time options ensures we can measure the impact of a Social Media campaign or Flash sale in real time .
